This winter members completed capsize drill at the Australian Maritime College. The instruction was very good and we tried to adapt the controlled situation to real life on the river.
It can’t be over emphasised on how important it is remember your number and your buddy. We hope this never happens on the Tamar. Cold water shock can be a real problem even for the strongest swimmers.
Lets hope this is a circumstance that never happens and that is why the sweeps like to keep the boat stable and safe.
